The European Design Awards is an annual event, bringing together the best examples of communication design in Europe. As a joint initiative by the major communication design media on the continent, it is widely recognised as one of the most prestigious design awards on an international level. 

 
Submissions are carefully evaluated throughout March, and the winners are notified starting at the second half of April. There is an official European Design Festival and Award Ceremony traditionally held in June and this year's plan is to have them in Tallinn, Estonia.

The official announcement of winners will take place during the European Design Festival 2022, which this year is going to be hosted in the cosiest of nordic capitals: Tallinn - a modern, sustainable, and innovative city known for its relaxed vibe. A city where the historical and cultural legacies from different eras contrast with its vibrant and creative urban environment. 

This year’s festival programme is being curated by the Estonian Design Centre and will take place on June 16-19, Tallinn, Estonia. The festival will include an award show, conference, workshops, exhibitions, studio walks, and many other events! Creative people from all over Europe are expected to join the many events, which will also be open to the wider public. Some preliminary information regarding the events can be found on European Design Awards webpage but more detailed information to follow shortly!

THE ENTRY DEADLINE IS 25 FEBRUARY 2022 at 23:59 (GMT)

• The submission period started on December 21, 2021;
• Entry deadline is set for February 25, 2022;
• Physical samples (for the categories that they are required) should be at our Athens office by March 8th, at the latest;
• Notification of finalists will commence on April 11th and will be completed within a week;
• The awards ceremony (and accompanying festival) will take place in Tallinn, June 16-19, 2022

About: A EUROPEAN COMMUNITY OF EXCELLENCE

Since 2007, a group consisting of publishers, journalists, editors and academics, gather together on a yearly basis as the jury for the European Design Awards. Together, they evaluate and acknowledge the best examples of communication design in Europe from participants throughout the continent.

The jury members curate similar content on a daily basis, adding an aspect of uniqueness to the European Design Awards. By entering, participants have an opportunity to make their work visible to a wider audience (through the media that the jury members represent).
Once the closing date for submissions for the European Design Awards passes, the jury assembles in order to evaluate the submissions. After the winners are announced, the European Design Awards wraps up with a festival, followed by the Awards Ceremony itself.

Every year, the European Design Awards Festival and Awards Ceremony is held in a different city. It is recognized as one of the most important events in the communication design calendar, creating an ideal opportunity for the most creative people of our community to come together, network, be inspired and celebrate.
